A Kidney Function Test (KFT) is a group of blood and urine tests that assess how well the kidneys are functioning. Key blood tests include serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN), which measure waste products filtered by the kidneys. High levels of these indicators may suggest impaired kidney function. The test also often includes estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), which indicates how effectively kidneys are filtering blood. Urine tests may measure protein and albumin levels to detect early signs of kidney damage.
